Police are now searching for a man with a lengthy criminal history who got away after a police chase. Leslie Ellison was being transported to a mental hospital after allegedly swallowing three AAA batteries. On I-30 and Saint Francis is where he apparently kicked the doors open and taking off in a stolen truck. Ellison was spotted in Seagoville today. Officers attempted to stop the truck but instead a chase ensued that lasted for about 10 minutes. Ellison was able to lose the officers and abandoned the truck and a mobile home park in Dallas. Police went through every street thinking that he may have hidden under a home. Police think Ellison is armed and dangerous. His criminal history includes assault, drug charges, and theft. Schools in the area were on alert, and police are still searching.
I blame it on the police. Being able to kick the doors open as escape should not have even been possible for a convict they were supposedly taking to the hospital. This is really alarming to everyone considering that Ellison is probably armed and dangerous and floating about somewhere. Police probably need to reevaluate there safety strategies and find this guy.

I agree with Victoria. As much as I'm sure they're trying to play this off to just be Ellisons fault, they should've been more cautious and correctly secured the area. I hope that they find this guy soon because anyone who swallows three batteries is probably not right in the head.
