This Tuesday, a man in California was arrested and accused of operating a "revenge porn" website and trying to extort another website to remove any sexually explicit contraband. The operator, Kevin Bollaert, is a 27-year-old resident of San Diego, and was charged with a totally of 31 felony counts. These counts included conspiracy, identity theft, and extortion.

Research has shown that Bollaert created the website ugotposted.com in December 2012, which allowed uploads of sexual pictures of people without their consent. The photos were mostly uploaded by enraged ex-boyfriends and ex-husbands, according to the authorities. Bollaert then created another website, changemyreputation.com, according to the court documents. Authorities state that Bollaert made thousands through his websites.

To operate any kind of website such as this is truly demented and sick. If people are not going to consent to their private areas, it is completely illegal and immoral to go against their wishes and exploit them. It's just downright evil.

  2. That is awful. Sometimes our freedom on the internet isn't a good thing.

  3. I wish this weren't a trend. It's truly disgusting that this is becoming more and more prominent, as if it were a legitimate option for dealing with one's anger over relationships.

  4. This causes incredible paranoia. It is hard for me to imagine that someone is so angry that the only way they can feel better is if they put naked pictures of their ex out there on the internet for the whole world to see
