Caran Johnson was listening to the police scanner when she heard about a terrible crash that happened, so she started to "live-tweet" about it. As she was listening to the police scanner and tweeting, she realized that her husband took that route home, and would have been around there at the time of the crash because he had left work early because he was feeling "faint". The Husband suffered from epilepsy, so the wife started expressing her worries through her tweets. After many live tweets, she receives a call saying that her husband had died in that car crash that she had been tweeting on.
This story, as tragic as it is, is slightly remarkable. The fact that the woman was listening to the police scanner at that time, and the fact that she had been so intrigued by this particular crash, is very interesting. I personally never take interest in crashes whenever I hear about them. I never think of them personally, or really think of who was involved in the crash at all. I wonder if deep down inside, when she heard about the crash, she knew that it was her husband, like in the movie Practical Magic when they heard the death beetle and knew that their husband was going to die.
I send my regards to Caran Johnson, hoping that she will recover in good time from the loss of her husband.

Byron Otis- What a shocking happenstance. I imagine having tweeted about it would make her feel even worse. So public, so tragic
ReplyDeleteWow, how ironic and very sad for this poor woman. My heart really goes out to her.
