That’s what conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh suggests, calling the Pope’s latest document “pure Marxism.”
Limbaugh blasted the pontiff on Wednesday, a day after Francis released “Evangelii Gaudium” (The Joy of the Gospel), a 50,000-word statement that calls for church reform and castigates elements of modern capitalism.
Limbaugh’s segment. “It’s Sad How Wrong Pope Francis Is (Unless It’s a Deliberate Mistranslation By Leftists),” takes direct aim at the pope’s economic views, calling them “dramatically, embarrassingly, puzzlingly wrong.”
The Vatican a translation of “Evangelii,” which is known officially as an apostolic exhortation and unofficially as a pep talk to the worlds 1.5 billion Catholics.
Francis – the first pope ever to hail from Latin America, where he worked on behalf of the poor in his native Argentina – warned in “Evangelii” that the “idolatry of money” would lead to a “new tyranny.”
Response:
Yay, Rush Limbaugh is at it again. The worlds most contradictory man hath spoken. First of all, Limbaugh lambastes almost anything with a beating heart (except himself of course) and an uncommon fact that you might've surpassed is that Limbaugh is never wrong.
Rush Limbaugh simply could not express enough his views on how sinful same-sex marriage is due to the fact that it's against God's will. Is this will the same as the one that is now practicing Marxism?
According to Rush Limbaugh: marriage equality is an attack on both the bible and the Constitution... So let me get this straight, gay marriage is a sin, but divorce is not? Alrighty, Rush. Most of this response was completely off topic and sarcastic (by the way)

Rush Limbaugh is such a joke. I've heard before that he has admitted that he doesn't believe in half the things he says. He simply says them to make money/cater to the extreme crazies of our society. He's a madman! I actually really like the pope. He seems to get down to the true meaning of serving people and being a kind person. Rather than being in it for the riches and to oppress. Yay Pope Francis!
ReplyDeleteSo far the pope has surpassed any hope I could harbor for a major religious leader. He also has the name of the coolest saint.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with Meg. He exceeded all my expectations and also disproved some of the stereotypes that I held about major religious leaders. I respect him as a person and appreciate what he has done for his followers. Rush Limbaugh is ridiculous and he loses his credibility among people as his obnoxious claims and beliefs (whether he truly believes them or not) show his true colors.
