USS Nimitz and its strike group enters Red Sea - Zien Lin (P4)

Summary: The USS Nimitz aircraft carrier and its strike group consisting of three destroyers and a cruiser sailed into the Red Sea around 6A.M EDT instead of following their original route towards Everett, Washington to be relieved. . In the past few weeks, the US naval presence in the eastern Mediterranean has also been increased. Two destroyers that were scheduled to be relieved are now instead serving alongside their "replacements". Retired Admiral Gary Roughead said, "It's a prudent move that provides for maximum naval flexibility in the region" because Barrack Obama is planning to have a limited strike against Syria for using chemical gas against civilians, however, Congress doesn't return to Washington until 9-09 to vote on its approval.

Analysis: The article was written by Andrea Shalal-Esa to tell the American public about events that are currently happening in and around Syria that concerns America. The information is unbiased in my opinion so I liked it and thought it was a good relay of information to the public. It's significant because if the public doesn't know about things that are happening concerning the country they live in, they can't influence the decision/role their government will take. http://petitions.moveon.org/sign/president-obama-dont-18
