Response:
The second I read the article I automatically thought about the Trayvon Martin case which was an instance of an unarmed man being shot to death and debating whether the shooter(who made a spur of the moment decision) should be charged with their mistake. Personally, in this instance I think the police officer should be charged with something greater than manslaughter. The police didn't even give Ferrell a chance to explain himself: they just went ahead and shot him. It was mentioned in the article that the police officers thought they were responding to a breaking and entering charge which ended up not being true. I think this whole situation turned deadly due to misunderstanding. Still, I think the polices were wrong to draw weapons automatically and against an unarmed man.
Even if it was a response to a breaking and entering they shouldn't have shot him unless he was an immediate threat. Also, they could have just shot him once in the arm to stop him. Shooting him 10 times means to kill... It wasn't an accident.
