UN climate deal commits every nation to curbing emissions- Elizabeth Walker p.3

Recently the United Nations has set out to get over 200 countries to pull back on fossil fuel usage because of global warming. There was no rule about this or threat of leaving the UN, the major push factor was that everyone else was doing it so why shouldn't you? A good form of global peer pressure. The plan is to get each country to enact domestic laws to reduce the carbon output and slow down global warming. The United States President, Obama, is all for this plan because it mirrors his legacy as a president for making change. China, India, and Australia are all being watched to see what their next move is for the world and the people living in it.

I believe that this relates to history in a way that the United States as a whole has always been fighting to make themselves better and to this day we are still at least trying to keep moving forward. This article shows that we are not all bad, on the contrary we are trying to make the world a better place.
