Senate Passes spending bill- Amanda Cervantes p.4

The U.S Senate recently passed a spending bill, which formally averts government shutdown with $1.1 trillion dollars to fund the government until September of 2015.Republicans who opposed this said it did not do enough to curb the presidents immigration policy. This came after Texas republican Ted Cruz and Mike Lee of Utah organized a weekend session where they demanded the Senate vote on a measure objecting the presidents executive order on immigration. This legislation narrowly passed in the House.

I think this was a good end that congress came to, because if not them we could have had the threat of another government shutdown, but it will bring many additional problems amongst members of congress because of their differences of party.
