                                        Florida Yoga Studio Shooting
Yet again, there has been another shooting in the U.S. This time it was in a Florida Yoga Studio. Scott Beierle shot 6 killing two people, then killing himself on Nov. 2. He was well known to the campus police at Florida State University. He had been arrested 3 times, because of trespassing and groping women on campus. The shooter had also posted, on several different occasions, misogynistic and racist videos.
This opened my eyes to the fact that it is really important to pay attention to what people post on social media and report what might look suspicious. We miss clues to what someone might act upon everyday. This reminded me of my current event from last week, the Philadelphia shooting and the man who was sending bombs to prominent democratic figures. Both of those people who committed heinous crimes, posted about their ideals and views on social media. One of them was even a member of a white supremacists website.

  1. Emma Burkey: I totally agree that this is eye opening to the fact that we need to start paying attention to what people post on social media. I think if more people had brought his posts to the attention of others or law enforcement, it is a possibility this shooting would have never happened.

  2. There could have been further prevention, I agree with you. Suspicious behavior should always be reported. Also, maybe if the law was different, these shootings wouldn't happen.
