Teen Gives Aid to Hurricane Victims in Puerto Rico by Jules Stowe

As many people know, a hurricane has left many Puerto Rican towns devastated, and there is very little being done to help. however, 15 year old Salvador Gomez Colon has taken action. With a crowdfunding campaign he has raised over 125000 dollars to help aid the people in rural communities that have no power after Hurricane Maria. Salvador's efforts have proved very fruitful and he has distributed solar power lamps to over 840 homes in Puerto Rico. He claims this experience has helped him truly be grateful for the life he has.

This is relevent because it just shows how much one person can help a good cause! there are always articles about how people to terrible things to other people, and how no one seems to be helping. And a lot of times people, in an effort to justify their inaction, claim that they alone would not make  difference so it doesn't matter. Salvador has proved those people wrong by single handedly raising enough money to help over 800 people in such little time! We as a people, and not as a country or a race, but we as a species need to help each other out. Dire times call for unity not division, and together we can undo all these horrible things going on these days if we just try.
