School Shooting in Florida Puts Teachers in New Role as Human Shields- Jack Boreham

After the tragic shooting in Parkland Florida, many teachers are considering their role in the case of another school shooting. Most teachers believe that it's their job to protect students. Some think of this by keeping a gun in their desk. Where others see it as being a human shield for students. This illustrates how regular school shootings are changing our response of how to stop school shootings to what I need to do in the event of a school shooting. In the past few days, teachers have written to Congress and state lawmakers urging them to ban assault weapons or seeking permission to carry firearms to school.

My analysis: I find it interesting how something terrible becomes so common and part of our everyday lives can change how we think of solving the problem. We shift from how do we stop this problem to this is inevitable so how do we make it less deadly.
