The company Amazon has announced that they are letting go of many employees. Most of the layoffs are occurring in their headquarters in Seattle. However, very soon they will fire people all across the globe. Amazon says that they have added over 130,000 jobs over the past year. Amazon also said that they have employed 560,000 people by the end of 2017. Amazon is doing better than they ever had as a company. They reported a profit of 2 billion dollars in the last quarter of the holiday season.
I feel very bad for all of the people who are getting fired. Hopefully Amazon can open up more job opportunities in the future.
