As a result of the school shooting in Florida last week, many teachers have responded over actions. The emotional side of the shooting has started forming and not just the town, but the whole United States is effected. They are starting to wonder and question protection within the classroom and how they can be better equipped. The teachers have also commented on how they feel they are more than just educators, they are protectors and bodyguards. Many arguments over gun control have also started since and are still being questioned. Many teachers have commented on the fact that they were never picturing something like this to happen, but that they need to be ready to do more than "just teach". People have spoken of having bats and bulletproof vests available as well. They say the bottom line is they want to teach and are having the hardest time moving forward and making pre decisions of if events like this happened again, how would they react.

This relates to APUSH, because people have always been willing to die and sacrifice themselves for beliefs that they have, the teachers that we have we need to value more, because it has come out that they would take any of our places if events happened, in a heartbeat.
