World champion Alpine skier Lindsey Vonn responded to trolls on Twitter after being blasted for not placing and receiving a medal during the woman's Super-G in Pyeongchang. Vonn lost her first Olympic race in 8 years and is considered one of the greatest female ski racers in history. Following her loss, people took to social media to blast her and blame her loss to her opinion of President Trump. One Tweet reading "Guess Lindsey Vonn won't have to worry about declining that Trump invitation to the White House after all!" Other tweets read along the same line.
Vonn responded to a tweet Julie Foudy, former captain of the U.S. women's national soccer team, made defending Vonn. Vonn thanked her for her support. In December , Vonn, in an interview, stated that she would not visit the white house if she placed.
