The terrible, terrible, terrible, school shooting left at least 17 people dead and 14 seriously injured. The gunman was 19 years old and used to attend school, but was apparently expelled for his bad behavior and did not graduate. He was armed with a semiautomatic rifle and "countless" magazines, according to police. He was arrested a short distance from horrific scene he had caused, and when he attended his first court appearance, the judge ordered him to be held without bond.
This whole situation really just leaves me sick to my stomach. It's so awful how these types of terrible events are still happening, and how every time they do happen, nothing gets changed. How many more school shootings will we have to have until something is done to help keep people safe? How many more innocent lives will be taken until people stop "sending their prayers" and actually try to make a difference? No one should ever be terrified to go to school and not know whether they'll come home alive or not. These things should NOT happen. It just makes me so sad.
