Jeson Aviles - Scientists Find Chemical That Regrows Hair at Record Rate – And it Happens to Be in McDonald’s Fries

A study on improving hair growth used two kinds of cells, which were placed in silicone containers, to cultivate hair follicle germs; recognized as the source of tiny organs that produce and maintain hair. Professor Junji Fukuda, leader of the study, and their team achieved the production of 5,000 follicle germs in the span of a few days, enough amount for the growth production of hair. This method of hair growth will be able to replace other beauty standards and actually give consumers the results they seek, such as those victim to excessive medical intake. The belief that McDonald's fries helped cure baldness was debunked by Fukuda, explaining that simply because dimethylpolysiloxane is used by fast food companies in their fryers does not mean consumption of these foods will offer hair benefits. "How many fries would I have to eat to grow my hair?"

While there are optimistic possibilities with the reveal of this new method on hair growth, the myth of hair-benefiting McDonald's fries really does show how easily misinterpretation can grow and spread.
