crash in the grand canyon- Jade Pierre
On Saturday afternoon, a helicopter that was touring in Grand Canyon national park had a fatal crash. The reason for the helicopter crashing that was carrying 6 passengers and 1 pilot is unknown. At exactly 5:20 pm the crash occurred 3 miles away from the Quatermaster canyon (an Indian reservation) leaving 3 dead and 4 injured. Because of the difficulty of getting to the scene, the 4 severely injured passengers were still at the scene till 9 pm. The last crash in the grand canyon was in 2001 (6 people dead 1 severely burned). Safety of these tours has improved since then but still isnt perfect.

I can’t imagine feeling on top of the world one minute and being gone the next. I hope safety precautions do get better.
ReplyDeleteOlivia Wall- That is so wild that there was a crash. I am glad that the tours have improved, but hopefully they learn a lot form their mistakes.
