Stephen Paddock is the man responsible for this very traumatic event that occurred in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Nevada police have recovered 23 guns from Paddock's hotel room. There are a recorded 59 fatalities and 527 injured in the "deadliest mass shooting in US history". Witnesses have described this event with complete horror. People were having to hold open wounds closed with their bare hands to prevent multiple people from bleeding out.

Authorities have evidence to believe Paddock acted on this alone. They are also led to believe that this is not connected to any overseas terrorist act of any kind. The gunman's brother, Eric Paddock, was "stunned and dumbfounded" to hear that his brother was capable of any sort of violence to this extent.

This saddens me greatly. Our country has already endured so much sadness and unfortunate events in this past year that this was the last thing we needed again. The only thing I can hope that comes from this is that we will grow from this and become more united as a country. I feel like in the recent events that have been happening, now more than ever, we all need to lean on one another for strength and support in order to conquer any other obstacles that are thrown our way.

  3. Gun control is key. I always have respect for the people that went through this awful and terrifying event, but we have to face that fact that if gun control doesn't change neither will this.
