This is one of the most ridiculous stories I've heard, but interesting. A man, Malcom Applegate, hid in the woods for 10 years to escape his wife's nagging. What? This is one of the craziest things I've ever read. Most people would work out their issues or even get a divorce, but this man thought the best way to get away from all of his wife's issues was to hide in the woods. And not even for a week which would still be dumb, but for 10 years! Wow, I was shocked I don't know about you.

I feel like this ties to history in the sense of women always being considered lower or less important than they actually were. Women were always second best back then. Men always felt more in charge than the woman and felt more superior. This makes me think of that because this man did the extreme to get away from "nagging". Women now and back then can be labeled as annoying, but that is not true at all.

This is really extreme and just extra if he really wanted to get away he could of just left instead of hide, and I agree with how it relates to history because it's true how the image of women have been changed thought the years.
ReplyDeleteThis is crazy! I definitely agree on your stance on how this connects to gender inequalities. It's frustrating to think that after all our work on becoming equal, inequality is still happening.
ReplyDeleteI find it so completely strange that a man would HIDE for 10 YEARS to get away from NAGGING. He simply could have left? And him not even trying to work through it, but just to hide in the woods.... People are... interesting...
ReplyDeleteAgreeing with Amy, that seems like a strange way to handle the situation but hey what do i know about hiding from my wife's nagging
ReplyDeleteThis seems to be extreme on his part. There are so many easier ways to go about that but he chose to hide?! That just seems strange
ReplyDeleteThat's very a wild and weird way to deal with nagging. Out of all the rational ways he could have dealt with that, he chose to hide in the woods (kind of funny though).
ReplyDeleteThis is crazy! I agree with the way you connected gender inequality to the story. Im not sure why he didn't just work it out with his wife...

ReplyDeleteI just think it's funny, but just to differ from the other comments a bit, I would say this a prime example of how woman can truly effect the people of their life, even a whole countr, if a female was able to win the election. In a way this article is saying a woman drove a man away for 10yrs, on a larger scale a woman can dive away terrorist and such. I'm just saying woman can get the job done.
I feel there could be more to the story then his wife "nagging", its not normal behaivor to hide in the woods for 10 years due to being annoyed by your own wife.
ReplyDeleteI find this really hilarious that he hid from her just because of her nagging. There has got to be more reasons that we don't about though; if there is, I'm curious to know what those reason are.
