On October 1, 2017 at approximately 10:08 pm attacker, Stephen Paddock began open-fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel nearby a concert on the Las Vegas Strip. He was able to wound at least 400 people and even killed 50 before taking his own life in his hotel room. When police entered his room, they found a variety of weapons including at least 10 rifles but have no reason to believe that his violence was connected to another group or terroist organization. Meanwhile, the victims still hospitalized suffer from lack of blood and in response to this, hospitals requested donations for the hundred of victims still in fear of their life. But later that morning, the Las Vegas Community was relieved to see crowd after crowd of people donating blood to the victims of this act of terrorism. People are still investigating how this happened, especially since the attacker Stephen Paddock, also had a collection of military weapons enabling him to shoot for as long as 10-15 minutes.
I believe this happened because of the loose laws on gun control. This is the deadliest mass shooting in US history and it seems that that record keeps being replaced continuously. People should have rights to guns, but they should not be given freely and blindly. Especially if they're capable of killing our own people quickly and efficiently. This is our country, not a war zone so how long do we have to wait until some laws are in effect?
