Panama Papers Paul Radke (5th)

Summary- Eleven million documents were leaked from one of the worlds most secretive companies, Panamanian law firm Massack Fonseca. They show how Massack Fonseca has helped clients launder money, dodge sanctions and avoid tax. The company says it has operated beyond reproach for 40 years and had never been charged with any criminal wrong doing.

Analysis- This is a big deal with their company in the fact that they just released all of these documents for anyone to view. Since they have been helping people avoid taxes and stuff with money and have not been charged with anything, why should this be a big deal? If they were to do something wrong they would have been charged. It has also helped rich people hide their wealth, which if they want to hide it then that is fine but when the taxes come into play then they need to pay what they need to. This topic will be a buzz for a while and I hope we can find out about what this company is doing.

  1. This is similar to the scandals that have occurred within the White House including the Watergate Scandal and the Teapot Dome Scandal that decreased the public's trust in the government.

  2. Putin, the King of Saudi Arabia, the PM of Iceland, to name a few government officials. Also, Jackie Chan. Right in the childhood, ouch.
