Coachella- Nicole Chatham 6th period

This week I read an article that talked about the 2016 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. This article is basically set as a type of "survival guide" with tips and tricks for a successful experience at Coachella! Within this article many characteristics of Coachella are expressed through situations that this guide prepares readers for! Whether it's through tips about bringing cash, having a meeting place, planning your route or dressing in layers, this article prepares festival-goers for this exciting event!

Analysis- I found this article to have been interesting and entertaining! Coachella is a big festival that brings many people together for it's music and carefree atmosphere! I can relate this article back in U.S. history to the Woodstock Music and Art Fair (or Woodstock Festival) in 1969. Woodstock was a major music festival that attracted an audience of 400,000 people and ran over four days. It
marked a turning point in music history and also showed the influence of the counterculture generation. It is similar to Coachella in several ways, especially with it's focus on music and overall theme of peace!

  3. Coachella is the wonderful baby of Woodstock. And of course it is less chaotic because it happens every year.

  4. It is also the place people go to culturally appropriate for some reason idk why. Like if it isn't accepted to wear a headdress and dreamcatcher in public why do you think it's ok to wear it to an event that has nothing to do with it.
