More than 550,000 people have signed a pledge to boycott Target over its restroom and dressing-room policy. The
petition, organized by the nonprofit American Family Association, is a response to Target's published pledge to "welcome transgender team members and guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity."The American Family Association, which has been labeled as an anti-LGBT extremist group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, argues that Target's policy "endangers women and children by allowing men to frequent women's facilities." Target spokeswoman Molly Snyder wrote in an email that there are "single-stall/family restrooms in hundreds of our stores for guests that may be more comfortable with that option." When asked about the petition, Snyder also said, "We certainly respect that there are a wide variety of perspectives and opinions. As a company that firmly stands behind what it means to offer our team an inclusive place to work — and our guests an inclusive place to shop — we continue to believe that this is the right thing for Target."
I don't agree with the American Family Association, I think that this all inclusive attitude gives me and other consumers another reason to shop here. I would prefer my money to go towards a forward thinking establishment rather than an inconsiderate and dated one.
