"Modernizing Money" Julia Plummer pd. 1

Recently it was announced that there will be some significant changes in the physical appearance of the country's money. Harriet Tubman will replace Andrew Jackson on the face of the $20 bill, as well as images of suffragist leaders and movements on the backs of the $5 and $10 bills. The designs for these changes will not be released until 2020, but the nation is already very excited about the new currency, and many have already photoshopped versions of what they think the new bills will look like.

This new design for our money is quite a big step in changing the age-old custom as recognizing men in power more than women in America. While this won't completely put men and women on the same level of recognition, it's a start!

  1. Although many people think this idea is ridiculous, I think it is a good idea! I may be biased because I am a woman, but it is about time for women to be considered as good enough to be on our national money because let's be real, we are.

  2. I think that this really awesome. These people deserve to recognized as an important part of our history and putting them on our money is a great way to do that. Also, I never thought Andrew Jackson was a great person to put on the $20 bill because of the Trail of Tears, and his mismanagement of the banks.

  3. Matthew Homsher 9th. Finally, Andrew Jackson is going to be taken off the bill. He's been on there since the 1920s. Harriet Tubman will be a much better replacement

  4. Interesting, this is the first I've heard of it! I like the idea of modernizing money. What will happen in the far future when we have newer American heroes? Will money keep changing?
