Just recently, 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Ecuador, causing hundreds to die and the death toll is still rising. Cities were destroyed, turned into mere rubble and the destruction has destroyed the lives of many. Colombia, Chile, Spain, and Mexico lent a hand by sending in rescue teams and police to assist Ecuador and its citizens. The effect was devastating, with the lack of water and communication, which brings in more rising devastation and panic to Ecuador.
The US had also suggested that they are "ready to assist in any way they can". With thousands injured, the city is back to square one just like how the 1989 earthquake in SF which caused huge destruction too. Ecuador will have to rebuild itself while trying to deal with the tragic casualties. Scientists have predicted that the bay area will soon experience an earthquake like this
