Brazil's president, Dilma Rousseff, is on the verge of impeachment for gerrymandering her country's growing deficit. With a vote of 27 to 38, the latter being the members of congress supporting her impeachment, she will eventually have to face the consequences of her actions.
This is similar to Nixon's Watergate scandal in 1972, in which he was suspected of sending spies to the Watergate hotel to retrieve info on the Democratic campaign. Later, he denied having anything to do with it. Whether he did or not, he played a key role in the destruction/hiding of the evidence from the mission. Nixon was ultimately covering up the unjust action, much like President Rousseff has done with regards to Brazil's growing deficit.

I feel like what she did was not as bad as Nixon lol -Kenley Turner
ReplyDeleteI watched a Youtube video about this not too long ago, and what is happening in Brazil right now is actually super crazy. People need to be discussing it more because something similar can happen in other places in the world as well. It is really important that this resolves peacefully because it could threaten the stability of their democracy.
