Lemonade vs Tea - Max Gaddis 9th period

Beyoncé's new visual album Lemonade has snatched my edges. It was an ode to the struggle of the black woman in our society. It highlighted Beyoncé's personal life as an example, from her pregnancy with Blue Ivy to her grandmother's recipe for Lemonade. Formation was a single from this album released 2 months in advance.

This album used spoken word poet Warsan Shire, Serena Williams, Zendaya, Quevenzhané Wallis, Amandla Stenburg, and Winnie Harlow's talents, to name a few, to make an unapologetically black album come to life. Beyoncé had samples of Malcolm X's speeches and Led Zeppelin as well as guest appearances from Kendrick Lamar and Jack White. This album used history both personal and national to tell the story of the black woman, "the most disrespected woman in America".
