Everybody remembers Bill Nye the science guy from elementary school, and years later he is making an appearance in politics. On Earth day, he let his stance on climate change be known- while more people are aware of it now than ever before, we still have a long way to go.
Last year, I remember watching him on TV declaring that climate change is the most important problem we face today, and many are ignoring it. He recently brought it up again, this time criticizing the fossil fuel industry and Republican candidates for not paying enough attention to climate change. He even slammed a statement that Donald Trump posted on twitter.
Trump said: "The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive."
In response, Bill Nye said: "Climate change is a conspiracy of scientists to enable China to take jobs? Dude, really?"
I absolutely respect Bill Nye and his stance on climate change, and I am glad that he is making headlines with his bold statements.
Kenley Turner 3rd period- I love how he is always correcting republican ideals, like how he fully explained what an abortion actually is. He points out things that dont make sense and I think that is a very good thing.
ReplyDeleteOh Bill Nye
ReplyDeleteI love when people use their platform to educate instead of letting the ignorance just spread. Go Bill!
ReplyDeleteMe too Kat, it's not the most important issue facing us in my opinion, but it still needs to be spoken on and adressed.
ReplyDeleteClimate change is not a joke. I don't know how the Chinese can fake the melting of icebergs and the fatality of scores of polar life.

I am glad that more people are speaking out intelligently for the environment. I have a hard time understand how people cannot acknowledge that our environment is changing and that it is extremely important that we preserve it. The more people who talk about it, the more people will lesson.
