Great Reforms, Sadly Gone Wrong- Carrington Whigham

Summary:
A DISD schoolteacher was sentenced Monday to 18 months in federal prison for trying to hide more than half a million dollars in income. Linda Fantroy made 111 cash deposits totaling profits, over half a million, from January 2010 and October 2013. All of her money deposits were less than $10,000 so there wouldn't be any suspicion, which is called structuring and is a federal crime. The teacher used the money to buy houses , that she rented to low-income families as a partner with federal housing program by the Dallas Housing Authority. Linda pleaded guilty in December, with the charge of structuring transactions, that undermined the exact regulations. Shenow has a sentence that starts on June 6. The IRS took Linda's seven houses after a federal judge ordered, in January.
Analysis:
I do not see the big fuss. It sucks that her actions were illegal, because her mission was clearly planned out with good intentions. Her project inspires me. She needs to go down in history for her great social reform efforts, even though this story is sadly ending with Linda facing a sentence.
