SUMMARY:
Earlier this week a group of 300 protestors was arrested after their demonstration at Capitol Hill. Police say they were arrested because of unlawful protesting actions made. Within the rebellious crowd were two of my favorite people in the world, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, the founders of Ben and Jerry's ice cream. What most people don't expect when they see a protest are two ice cream fanatics standing in the crowd chanting along about social injustices, but that seems to have been the case.
ANALYSIS:
This just goes to show that the power of the people extends its liberties to all people. Not only does our power extend to all but, also the justice enacted in our country. This just goes to show that people who make ice cream are relatively smart and that our government is acting somewhat the way it should. I wonder if they took inspiration from Martin Luther King Jr. or Gandhi? (SYNTHESIS)

ReplyDeleteBen and Jerry have always been liberal in their views, and it's interesting that people are discovering their passion for politics just now. The arrest made them seem even more like heroes in the eyes of the public.

Angelique Flores 9th- This story is absolutely amazing. I'm glad Ben and Jerry fought for what they believed in, but arresting them is just pure insanity. They weren't in my opinion doing anything wrong.
