Kiyanna Elliott Top US women footballers file complaint for equal pay

Summary: American women's soccer has been a leader in the international game. Alex Morgan, Carli Lloyd, Megan Rapinoe, Becky Sauerbrunn and Hope Solo say they are paid less than half of what the male USA players are being paid. The US Soccer Federation and the players' union have been in an ongoing legal battle over collective bargaining.

Analysis: Statistics and data show that women are being paid $.79 to the dollar that make men make even for doing the same jobs, and that is probably for white females; those numbers are lowers for minorities. This reminds me of the Equal Rights Act that was trying to be passing in the 20th century. Again it's been over 50 years since this bill had been proposed and also not passed and it's still an issue. I think the soccer players are doing a wonderful thing and standing up for what is right for them especially if they are doing this well. They deserve it.
