Julie shilling 4th- Transgender denied for prom

a transgender male fights for the opportunity of prom king. they said to him "you can either run as prom king or you can't run at all." Ash Whitaker came out sophomore year to his friends and family and this year he decided to make the change to a different gender. his peers gathered outside the school to protest that what they're doing is discriminatory and unfair. the majority of the student body is supportive of his choice to run but its the faculty's decision on who they let run.

the gender that a person decides to be is completely their choice. no one should tell them how that is done. if he really did have a gender switch, as in complete hormone change and surgery this kid should have the opportunity to try for prom queen, if not however I agree with the school, its already hard enough to make the leap and come out but its even harder to begin the change into another gender. this is similar to the fight for legal same sex marriage which was legalized in june.
