America’s ‘Hamilton’ Obsession Is Officially Shaping The Future Of Money- Erin O'Day

Unfortunately, there have been no women on the face of any US money, and many wish to change that. For a while, it was proposed that the $10 bill, currently featuring the face of Alexander Hamilton, be replaced with an important female figure in 2020, the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment that granted the right to vote to women. Yet with the huge success of the new broadway musical "Hamilton" and the immense popularity it has earned, many are more reluctant to get rid of Hamilton. Instead, it is more likely that the face of the far less popular Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill will be replaced with a women.

Ok, so I'm kind of obsessed with Hamilton. I think it's a brilliant and hilarious musical. I've been listening to it on my phone for the past couple of weeks, and actually yesterday while I was reading the Princeton Review and it mentioned Hamilton, I was just so much more interested in it. I think Hamilton's story is really cool, and a lot of the plot of act 2 revolves around the political rivalry of Hamilton and Jefferson. Hamilton pushed for a large and powerful central government and a redrawing of the constitution, which he tried to convince the public was a good idea with his Federalist Papers. Jefferson, on the other hand, promoted a smaller federal government and state's rights.
