New York Mayor: 'Trump Uses Racist Appeal'~ Calen C Smith 9th Period

New York mayor sharply condemned Monday rhetoric from Republican front-runner Donald Trump in wake of protests that have turned violent. The mayor says that Trump himself has raged violence against demonstrators and uses racism against "as a strategic tool." De Blasio , who has been critical of Trump since he entered the presidential race, called the billionaire a racist in a tweet sent over the weekend. "Trying to disrupt someone who is dividing America is fine ... peacefully," the New York mayor said. "To have a guy in 2016 saying, 'I'd like to punch him,' that's suggesting that it's OK to have violence in our society toward people who act different or who look different."

Analysis: The fact that Trump is running for President and people support him terrifies me. After African Americans have fought to been seen and treated as equals it only makes me wonder what will happen if he becomes president. I think it will be as if we came all this way just to be pushed back. Trump is a very extreme person and you can clearly see that in his tactics. I'm very anxious to see how this presidential run goes.
