A Maryland family were found dead in a house Monday when a police went to check on the father, who had failed to show up for work. When an employer called the police about the missing man, they went to the home where a vehicle was parked outside. The landlord brought a key since no one was answering the knocks to the door. The man and 7 children were discovered dead in the home. The electricity in the home was powered by a generator and it's unknown if the cause of their deaths were form carbon monoxide.
Trying to cool or heat your home is different at a lot of people's houses. In this case, they used a generator and maybe got too much carbon monoxide. This relates to APUSH because since the introduction of industrialization, America has tried to improve society's way of living by creating indoor plumbing, good heating systems, new technology, etc. If something goes wrong with something in your house, it can be hazardous and even cause death. It's important to always make sure and check everything is working properly.
This is such a sad story. We must all be careful even in our own homes.
ReplyDeleteNew technology can be such a scary thing because of accidents like this. I completely agree, we all have to be super careful because of this toxic gas.
ReplyDeleteThat's terrible. I agree that something should be done to prevent this from occurring again.
