Nina Pham Sues -Hadassah Lai

Nina Pham, a nurse at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, was the first person in the United States to contract Ebola from a patient she was treating. On Monday, she filed a lawsuit against the parent company, Texas Health Resources. She claims that the company did not give her adequate training to treat the infected patient who had came from Libya. She said that she was a symbol of neglect, that the company refused to acknowledge. So, being angered that the company was not being honest about the way she was treated and open about the situation, she sued the company. Pham is still receiving paychecks from the hospital, but she has not returned. She still suffers from body aches and fatigue.

I think that Pham has a good case going. I agree that she was actually being neglected, and the hospital failed to provide her with enough training and knowledge about the disease. Ebola is not to be taken lightly. Pham is still suffering from side effects, which will probably haunt her forever. This reminds me of the work policies back in the Progressive Era and FDR's New Deal. The companies back then abused their workers, and the government had to create policies to form benefits, minimum and maximum wages for the workers.
