There has been much debate over whether the pilot of the Germanwings plane that crashed over the French Alps, Andreas Lubitz, is responsible or not for the 150 lives lost. A lot of his psychiatric medical history is resurfacing after the years, showing that he was in a long period of depression with suicidal tendencies. It appears that Lubitz may have also had problems with his eyes. According to Tagesspiegel Daily, there were reports of him having a detached retina which would obviously hinder his eyesight. Either way, many people are arguing that he should not have been in that plane at all due to his mental and physical impairments.

From what I know and have heard, it sounds like he's to blame. If the reason the plane crashed was simply due to his eye sight, then why did he not let the other pilot in? It's reasons like these that lead me to believe that it was indeed a mental issue that caused him to crash the plane.
ReplyDeleteWhat a weird situation, I mean regardless of fault the whole thing is rather odd, tragic but odd none the less
