It is unclear why animal rights activist Sandy Lertzman killed herself.
She was founder of the Animal Rights Foundation, had a family of her husband and son, and called her home, " 'Sandy's Safe Haven For All Animals'."
But nonetheless, a suicide note was found in the car where her and her numerous amount of dogs' bodies were found. Prescription pills were found scattered at the scene in the garage. There was one dog that survived, and as found outside of the vehicle. The dog now lives with Lertzman's family. It was almost as if God saved that one dog, just to make the situation more bearable for the woman's family.
The fact that Sandy even killed herself is terrible, but the fact that she took the dogs with her is worse. Now without her, the dogs might not've even lived to see that day, but who says that they wouldn't have survived past the day she killed herself. It is unknown.
Hopefully the family has time to grieve and heals somewhere along the future. Tragic.

This is so terrible to hear. I can't believe she took those dogs with her in the car. This is just crazy!
ReplyDeleteok so did she feed the dogs the pills oorrr? Regardless dead dogs is sad...I mean suicide is terrible but come on, animal rights activist killing 31 dogs? The police need to be seriously investigating her life because either this was a staged suicide that was really a murder or something seriously wrong was going on... Maybe she and the dogs were being abused and she wanted them all to be in a better place...
ReplyDeleteThat is so sad. You would think someone who is an activist for the lives of animals would have more respect for her own and those of her animals. It will be interesting to see how this story unfolds and the factors that contributed to her suicide.
ReplyDeleteThe lady's an animal rights activist but she killed some dogs? Um...why...
ReplyDeleteThis is disgusting. I think suicide is one of the most selfish things you can do but for her to take her dogs down with her just makes her a repulsive hypocrite. I think the saddest part of it though is that all the good she may have done for the animals, will now be over-shaddowed by her awful acts before her death.
