Madison Ceurter: 2nd period Winter storm shuts down Dallas
This weather has been pretty insane the past couple of days. I think Global Warming is going a little crazy right now! This weather has left people at home with no power for 24 hours and trees falling on their homes. If people are getting out of their homes and driving they must be careful because the roads are very dangerous and icy. There have been people that have died from the horrible ice in Texas and Oklahoma. People that have been wanting to see there families or coming back from college can't because they have canceled almost 2,000 flights in Dallas. The city of Dallas has been very quiet with no activity going on. There was supposed to be a Dallas Marathon and the Holiday Parade, but those were canceled due to the weather and that was the first time those have been canceled before. Hopefully this weather clears up soon, but I know that everyone enjoyed not going to school on friday(:

The winter weather that hit dallas is no surprise. And yet it was kind of unexpected to me because I don't watch the news...so all of a sudden there was just snow everywhere...
ReplyDeleteI don't know if global warming is what caused this storm, but it sure is crazy! My dad's friend was stuck on the highway with his family over night! They had to abandon their car and go sleep in a local church. I think it is safe to say that Dallas wasn't exactly prepared for the winter storm we got.
