Gloria Jones: "Lesus"?!? Big Vatican Mispelling

This article is relatively simple. It talks about how 6,000 medals were made for the Vatican and they misspelled "Jesus" and put "Lesus". Now in the big scheme of things this seems like a rather minor, insubstantial mistake. However, it brings to light a modern day problem. An issue of incompetence, laziness, and carelessness. For such a pertinent word on an important item to be misspelled is very odd. It's a great example of how people these days just do not "care" as much about getting things right. For example, alway in articles and magazines nowadays I am seeing typos. It's rather ironic too because modern day technology has made it so easy to avoid these mistake, and yet they increase. I'm not saying this particular instance was. And I realize the Vatican is not in the US, but the article was under US news and I feel like the subject it presents is very relevant to our society here in America.

  2. I agree with you! I too believe people have gotten lazy in their work and really don't care anymore. These people should pay more attention to

  3. I personally kind of find it hard to believe that they simply didn't care. I mean, we're talking about the Vatican here. Still, I can't really see why else something like this would happen. Pretty strange.

  4. That really is rather disappointing. You'd think we'd care a little more.

  5. Am I the only one who finds this incredibly funny? The VATICAN misspelled JESUS. It doesn't get any more ridiculous than that.

  6. Wow this is ridiculous that even the company making the medals would get this wrong or wouldn't ask to see if this was misspelled.

  7. I'm honestly a bit incredulous that a mistake like this could go through so many people; there are so many people that must have noticed something but didn't stop to ask. Even if it was just a mistake by the first person, it says something about the way we have become as people. We are afraid to speak up for fear of others thinking we're stupid or incompetent, but one person speaking up could have remedied the situation before the medals were made.
