2 by 2 and 2x4s: The Building of Noah's Ark

            I selected the article, 2 by 2 and 2x4s: The Building of Noah’s Arks, by Kenny Malone. The story looks at Miami citizens’ plans to create a one-tenth of a full-scale Noah’s ark. Using the book of Genesis for an extremely literal set of instructions, Carolina Peralta is planning to join the ranks with other ark replicators. Malone looks at a few other examples of ark replicas and addresses how some believe that this story is more relevant than ever in the midst of climate change

            The article was written by an American and posted on NPR’s website. NPR may have a more bias against evangelists like those in the story, however I feel that this provides a good look at these individuals without too much personal opinion. It was posted on October 3^rd, 2013, and because these are recent endeavors it is more valid. I believe that Malone wrote this partly for humor’s sake at the very literal and widespread creation of arks around the globe but also to inform an American audience of these projects.
