Trouble for U.S. Border Patrol Agent Seen Punching Immigrant Boy in Video - Sophia Davison

Just today, news from FOX came out surrounding the case of a U.S. Border Patrol Agent stationed in Nogales, Arizona. Caught on tape punching a teenage immigrant for using his cellphone, which is not allowed in the area of the detainees cells, the case came prominently into court on Tuesday, after eight months of stagnant and lingering talk about action. Aldo Arteaga, the accused, turned himself into the authorities after a slow moving investigation by the Santa Cruz County Authorities had begun to make head-way and cause worry. Controversies over whether the state-backed trial should be moved to a federal court, and whether the sentence would be counted as a misdemeanor instead of a felony, due to the younger age of the boy, have arisen recently. Although Arteaga has an attorney backing him with the statement that "Arteaga's actions 'were necessary and proper to perform his duties as a federal law enforcement officer, and he had no motive other than to do his duties,'" the case looks as though it will turn in favor of the immigrant boy. Hopefully, there will be duly added justice and a proper sense of balanced governing applied to this case by all people making any decisions on the case.
