Congressman Steve King has received serious backlash for questioning why terms like "white nationalist" and "white supremacist." The leader of the Republican minority in the house is discussing whether or not he should continue to have a seat in the House, claiming the ideals of King do not reflect the rest of the Republican party.
These racist ideas have been prominent in the U.S. for a very long time. It is nice to see that statements like this are receiving serious repercussions, because these out dated sentiments should not be as common as they are especially in people in power. This article is from a relatively reliable source, VOA News, and it remains neutral on the topic. This article is intended to inform about the actions of congressmen.
White nationalist ideas have been in our history for many years. It reached its peak with the formation of the KKK in the 1860s during reconstruction. This white suprematist group is sadly still around to this day.
