Trump visits Martin Luther King Jr. memorial
On the morning of January 21st, President (you know who) and Vice President Mike Pence visited the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial on Monday. To begin with, neither the President had any official events on their schedule for the holiday. However their visit to the memorial was unannounced and which lasted for just a few minutes. Shortly before heading to the memorial, Trump tweeted a link to this year's presidential proclamation honoring the slain civil rights leader. "Today we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for standing up for the self-evident truth Americans hold so dear, that no matter what the color of our skin or the place of our birth, we are all created equal by God," Trump tweeted. During the visit, Trump ignored questions from reporters about the government shutdown.
Now I don't fully believe that Trump tweeted that whole thing about Mr.King Jr.,(I'm sure he got plenty of help with that). I am also still conflicted whether he went to the memorial just to make him look "good", especially on how long the visit was. However, at least he had the....(Urghm!)....GUTS!, to go.
