Government Shutdown - Kennedy Hannible

It has been the longest ever government shutdown all due to the demands from President Trump of $5 billion for the U.S-Mexico border wall. Democrats are adamant on not agreeing to fund this wall. The shutdown has caused a number of employees going without pay, which has led to some not coming to work. Over 800,000 employees in the nin Cabinet departments and about 380,00 smaller agencies are still working without pay. Several agencies have called back furloughed employees to work, like the IRS to work on filing 2018 taxes. The American Federation of Government Employees has also filed a lawsuit against the Trump Administration saying federal employees are being forced to work without pay.
