A while back in October a young girl named Jayme Close went missing, detectives could not find anything until 87 days later. It all begin when Patterson, Jayme's abducter spotted her at a bus stop and became obsessed with her. In fact, Patterson had attempted to kidnap Jayme twice before he successfully killed her parents and kidnapped her. Investigators said" he provided chilling details" of his crime and that even confesses that" everything was planned out perfectly." In fact, he even switched his whole look after the case. The whole time, Patterson had Jayme captive in his house (also known as Pattersons Retreat) in a small town named Gordon. What lead to Jayme being free was the confidence Peterson had in himself not getting caught due to him already getting away with it for months. Until, one day when he went out for the day and wouldn't be back till hours later. That is when Jayme took action and escaped, as she walked out for help there was lady walking her dog, Jayme approached her and the lady recognized her face and got her immediately. Police, soon arrived and minutes after Patterson did too and was arrested.
Its crazy how 3 months later Jayme was found, this is related to history because back 1874 was when the first kidnapping happened ever in history. This effected families at the time because this was something that had never happened and they wanted to do nothing but protect there kids after the incident. Sadly, things like this still happen and its probably one of the most heartbreaking things to think about. I can even begin to imagine what the families who have lost love one to this feels like.
