We need Martin Luther King Jr.'s prophetic vision even more now
In our times right now we aren't living up to what Dr.King wanted. He said"Our age is one in which men have turned away from the eternal God of the universe and decided to worship at the shrine of the god of nationalism." In times now people hear about national "sovereignty"and it can be used of abuse. The writer mentions Rohingya of Myanamar who was hunted and killed by their sovereign rulers, or the thousands fleeing the republic of Venezuela, whose government that does not answer to anyone.
Analysis: This article was written on January 20. I believe this article was written to show the temperance of Dr.Martin's words and how they were important. I believe there are many struggles today that have not been fixed from Martin's concerns back then. This article relates to history because Dr. Martin Luther King was an important figure in the Civil Rights Movement and helped many people get through hard times during that era.
I couldn't agree more! We need his vision of peace projected onto society now more than ever.
ReplyDeleteEvery second there are many people dying and suffering even as the population is increasing. It I sad Martin Luther King Jr. Died before people could spread his words more seriously and spread it throughout the world.
ReplyDeleteIt is sad that that so far in the future we are still needing the words of Dr. King, but I believe it is up to us to spread his words into our society today.
