ISIS claimed responsibility for deadly bombings at two Coptic churches in Egypt on Palm Sunday. Attacks against a vulnerable minority on one of the most important days for Christians is a tragic thing. The death toll rose to around 47 early Monday, media reported. 27 people killed inside a church in northern Tanta, and 16 were killed outside a church in Alexandria. Within the four locations of the bombings, they are not sure which one was bombed first. The first blast ripped through a Palm Sunday service at St. George's Church in Tanta, killing at least 27 people and around 78 wounded, stated tv reporter. Supposedly there was a explosive device planted under a seat in the main prayer hall, they stated. "Everything was destroyed inside the church," said Peter Kamel, who saw the aftermath of the bombing. "It's marble pillars were covered with blood," Kamel also said while he was looking around the remains of the church. Moments after, at least 16 people were killed and 41 others wounded in a suicide bomb attack outside St. Mark's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Alexandria, according to two state news outlets. Women were crying looking for their loved ones and hoping they weren't hurt.
Analysis:
Overall, I think this article was very hard for me to read through. Reading all the sad stories and quotes that the article posted were so heart breaking. it makes me think how countries can do this to one another. Where has the respect for life gone? Is no day sacred anymore? These were all innocent lives. It feels like the world has gotten smaller and that everything is so close. North Korea is testing missiles that can possibly reach the US. We have fired missiles at Syria. It is as if bombs and missiles are the answer to all disagreements. We all see how ISIS is barbaric and crazy. How can ISIS think that any of the things they do have a purpose?
