Emily McDougal - Fitbit used to Convict Man of Murder

Summary: Richard Debate claimed that a masked man had entered his family's house, brutally murdering his wife and tying him up and torturing him. However, when the police began investigating, his details did not add up to the situations they found. The police found no record of suspects in the area at the time of the alleged break in, so they searched the house alarm logs and Connie Debate's, Richard's wife, Fitbit. Her steps and online activity did not match up with the story the husband told. He was convicted of the murder himself. After the fact, he admitted to having an affair with another woman, and had also attempted to file for his wife's life insurance only 5 days after the murder.

Analysis: This article was written on April 26, 2017 by Amanda Watts, to tell about the murder of Connie Debate. I think it's really cool how technology is being used in more than one way to make new discoveries. I'm so impressed that's sole purpose is to track health was used to do something so significant.

Synthesis: This is similar to another murder solved by technology. Recently, an Amazon Echo was used to solve a murder case.
