Summary: Last weekend, a bomb hit some buses carrying evacuees from Syrian villages, killing 126 people. Photographer and activist Abd Alkader Habak was there working and was knocked out by the blast. When he came to, he began to help the wounded. The first child he checked on was dead. He ran towards another. Someone shouted at him to stay away -- the child was already dead, they said. But turns he wasn't. Habak could see the boy was barely breathing. He picked him up and began to run towards safety. His camera was still on, recording the chaos.
Habak said he left the injured boy, who must have been only 6 or 7, at the ambulance. He doesn't know if the boy survived. Then he ran back to scene of the bombing to help others. He came across another child on the ground. This one, too, was dead. After rescuing one boy, Habak is overcome with grief beside the body of another victim.
Overwhelmed, Habak collapsed.
Analysis: This is what our world needs. We need people like this photographer that puts his own life on the line to help others. We need to stop violence and meaningless bombings and just love each other. That is all what the world needs; endless love. Love that consumes you and ends wars. Love that helps others and not tear them down. We shouldn't need people like this photographer to open our eyes and wake us up. We should be already awakened and know what's hiding behind a bunch of bull the media is feeding to us.

ReplyDeleteJADA BROWN- This touched my heart, he's helping others so much, inspite of his own safety. I agree, we do need more people like Mr. Habak.
